More locations showing potential to host IT-BPM clients cited
(Manila, Philippines, May 20, 2013) — Highlighting the country’s momentum for the sustainable growth of the information technology and business process management (IT-BPM) industry, government and industry leaders today announced the Top 10 Next Wave Cities™ (NWC) for 2012.
According to the Department of Science and Technology-Information and Communications Technology Office (DOST-ICTO) and Information Technology and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP), the top 10 locations for the next wave of growth are, in alphabetical order: Baguio City, Davao City, Dumaguete City, Iloilo City, Lipa City, Metro Bulacan (Baliuag, Calumpit, Malolos City, Marilao, and Meycauayan City), Metro Cavite (Bacoor City, Dasmariñas City, and Imus City), Metro Laguna (Calamba City, Los Baños, and Sta. Rosa City), Metro Naga (Naga City and Pili), and Metro Rizal (Antipolo City, Cainta, and Taytay).

(Manila, Philippines, May 20, 2013) — The Information Technology and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) and its strategic communications arm TeamAsia, in partnership with the Information and Communications Technology Office of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-ICTO), formally launched the Philippine IT-BPM Road Map 2012–2016 today. The road map updates the strategic growth plan for the Philippine information technology and business process management (IT-BPM) industry since its Road Map 2016 was first published in 2010. The new study assesses the current state of the industry and affirms its potential to meet its targets of $25 billion in revenues and 1.3 million employees by 2016.
“The Philippines is a global leader in voice and non-voice, complex services,” said DOST Secretary Mario Montejo. “The government will continue to drive initiatives and support strategies to help accelerate the country’s leadership in the global IT-BPM industry. We will provide an enabling environment where the industry could continue to be competitive.”

They woke up early, some as early as 3 a.m., to get on a bus that would take them to the 1st SMP (Service Management Program) Teachers Camp at Asia Pacific College (APC) in Magallanes Village, Makati City.
The first to arrive were teachers from Laguna State Polytechnic University (LSPU) led by the affable Dr. Joel Bawica, dean of the College of Computer Studies.
