US ties bode well for BPO firms in the Philippines

THE Philippines is poised to be the global voice services hub, thanks to its ties with the United States.

In a one-on-one interview with the BusinessMirror, Tech Mahindra president Sujit Baksi said many India-based BPOs are expected to move their operations to the Philippines because of the Filipinos’ strong familiarity with the American culture. The majority of the clients of BPOs in the country are based in the United States. He, however, did not provide additional details on how many Indian BPOs will transfer to the Philippines.

“People here are more familiar with the American culture. Filipinos are more like Americans. They think like Americans and know the American culture very well,” he said.
